Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in the field of hydrology or civil, geological, biological, water resources or environmental engineering.

Skills Required:
  • 8 to 10 years related experience in environmental sciences, oil and gas industry, NEPA, FERC, PODs, GAPs, EAs, Permitting.
  • Must be a self starter.
  • Experience and knowledge of the upstream gas and oil business very helpful but not required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Job may require public speaking engagements and will require report writing.
  • Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of AutoCAD and/or ArcView preferred.
  • Ability to prepare reports, exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information, and the ability to keep records, analyze, summarize and present raw data, in order to fill out and submit reports and prepare permit applications.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with company and client personnel.
  • Current, valid driver's license required; travel up to 30% to 50%. Overnight stays may be required.

Oil and Gas Permitting Specialist

O&G Environmental Consulting, LLC is seeking a natural resource scientist with oil and gas permitting experience. Ideal candidate will work independently with excellent oral and written communication. Requires a BS or related experience with a minimum of 2 years of exploration and production permitting experience in the Rocky Mountain region. Position can be located in Casper, Denver, or Grand Junction. O&G has active projects for federal, state and local government agencies as well as private industry in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and New Mexico. To effectively serve the diverse needs of our clients, O&G has offices in Helena, MT - Sheridan, Casper and Gillette, WY – Englewood and Grand Junction, CO. Our staff of experienced professionals includes environmental scientists and engineers, geologists, ecologists, biologists, GIS managers, planners, and chemists.

Biologist / Botanist

O&G Environmental Consulting is seeking a senior biologist responsible for conducting business development, performing project management, developing scientific reports and providing staff oversight for work to include biological assessments, habitat studies, plant surveys and/or species inventories. The position is based out of the O&G’s Grand Junction, CO office; project work will be throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

Experience should include:

  • Wildlife species identification and research/survey
  • Terrestrial vegetation community and habitat classification and inventory;
  • Wildlife species-habitat ecology and related monitoring and evaluation;
  • Biological resources-related data interpretations, and technical reports;
  • Familiarity with land-use related to environmental effects and agency consultations for regulatory compliance/permitting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
  • Strong technical writing and problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral);
  • Computer software skills are required;
  • Multi-tasking with strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Knowledge of wetlands assessment/management; and
  • Familiarity with basic GPS operations and GIS applications. Required Educational Credentials and Experience:
  • BS/BA or higher degree in biological science, wildlife ecology/management, environmental biology/science, or a closely related discipline;
  • Excellent field skills with 2-4 years of relevant work experience in wildlife species and terrestrial habitat; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with wildlife species and habitats in the Rocky Mountain region is essential.
  • Professional experience in the environmental consulting industry is a plus.
  • The candidate must be able to climb ladders/stairs, lift 40 lbs., and work outside.
  • The assignment requires frequent domestic travel.

    Environmental engineers and scientists

    O&G Environmental Consulting, LLC is currently hiring experienced environmental engineers/scientists for permitting and compliance work in the natural resources industries. These positions will work on projects in federal, state and local government agencies as well as private industry in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and New Mexico. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field in science or engineering, 2+ years of experience and possess strong communication, writing and computer skills. Flexibility is a must and cross-functional skills are highly desired. Project assignments require frequent travel in the Rocky Mountain Region.
